It is estimated that over 15 million people were registered but didn’t vote in 2016 because of transportation issues.
This Election Day (Tuesday, 11/6), Lyft and Uber are working to change that.
Here’s what Lyft is doing:
Across the country, Lyft will give away 50% off promo codes that encourage voter turnout. Lyft will also
have a product integration to help passengers find their polling
location.
For underserved communities, Lyft will provide rides free of cost through nonpartisan, nonprofit partners.
Here’s what Uber is doing:
Uber has built an
in-app feature as part of its Uber Drives The Vote initiative that will show you exactly where your nearest polling place is and let you book a ride to get there for free.
PLEASE SHARE this information, especially with folks who may not have access to reliable, affordable transportation. Let’s get people to the polls!
BIG NEWS IN TEXAS!!!!! Over the 10-day early voting period 4 MILLION votes were cast! This is 84% of the total votes casted in the 2014 midterms!!! Oh, and Beto O’Rourke is now even with Ted Cruz in the polls so get out and VOTE BETO FOR U.S. SENATE ON TUESDAY!!!!!!!!
