In high school my friends made fun of my art because I pretty much drew naked ladies. Faeries mostly but other fantasy creatures too. Eventually I stopped drawing outside of whatever I need to do as a teacher. Very rarely I’ll doodle again. I think if I had a supportive community, I would have kept it up and gotten better. Just food for thought.
