I hate the implication that all porn is interchangeable and devoid of cultural value, so it’s no big deal when a decade’s worth of creative endeavor produced by a vibrant subculture is destroyed, because, whatever, it’s just dirty pictures.
I hate the disingenuous inability to see a distinction between a website that is about porn only, and a website that allows people to blog about all of their interests and aspects of their lives including sex and porn because those are normal parts of the human experience.
@staff Give us a blocking system that works. Take down the porn bots, the white supremacist blogs and the child porn. Give us a reporting system that actually has some oversight. There are so many things you could do.

I literally dont know how i can make this any more clear. Asexual and aromantic people belong in the LGBT community as much as the rest of us. And before your dumbass pipes up “but not cishet aces”, first of all fuck you. Secondly, they are NOT HETERO. They are Asexual. Which literally negates the idea of them possibly being heterosexual. They are not heteromantic. They are Aromantic. Which literally negates the idea of them possibly being heteromantic.

Here’s the thing: if the Republicans don’t suffer significant losses in the midterms, then they will interpret this as meaning that the racism and the xenophobia and the scapegoating of Jews and muslims and transgender people are winning propositions, and they will double down on all of these things. Yes the Democrats are frustratingly mediocre, and it sucks. But things still have a LOT of room to get worse.
The swing voter in November will not be the Republican to Denocrat or Democrat to Republican.
It will be the non-voter to voter.

Oh lets TALK ABOUT THAT.
There is a quote that is often used which says much, but the story
behind the telegram and how the quote came about is also quite telling.
“You may marry him, murder him, or do anything you like to him”*
While
this line is often quoted as showing how Sir Arthur did not care about
how Sherlock Holmes was portrayed, it should be noted that this quoteonly came after William Gillette pressed Sir. Arthur on the matter.
Keep
in mind that at the time that the telegram was written it was
inconceivable that Holmes would even have the opportunity to ever marry a
man.
The possibility of Holmes having a male love interest is
not something that would have -ever- been written about, spoken of, or
suggested because of the anti-lgbt culture ingrained throughout society
at the time (it was against the law). The co-dependant partnership of Holmes and Watson was the closest that could be achieved when it came to M/M ‘Love’ interest.
A
male male relationship would NOT be referred to as a ‘love interest’.
Dr. Watson could only ever be referred to as Holmes’ ‘partner’ and
‘friend’. Any reference to ‘love interests’ dealt with women by
default. Sir Arthur was stating his disapproval of Holmes having a
relationship with a woman.
This point is significant as it is
further evidence regarding how it is adaptations that try to show Holmes
as being straight and interested in a woman that have to bend/rewrite the
stories to do so, NOT the ones that show Holmes as having other
inclinations. It is the -straight- adaptations that are deviating more
from the canon stories and have to break canon when they try to push
heteronormativity.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle had written about
having a preference that Holmes remained single and alone or living with
Dr. John Watson then being romantically interested in a women.
