My friend is diabetic and in danger of going blind. Her name is Lianna, and we have been friends since elementary school. For the past several months I have been helping her pay for insulin since she is unemployed and has been so far unable to get medical assistance for this life saving drug. She is currently fighting to get Medicaid, but the process is taking too long for her to wait without seeking medical help. She has an appointment in July to see about getting Medicaid but by then it could be too late. She desperately needs to be seen by a doctor ASAP before the retinopathy progresses and she loses her sight.
I’m hoping that this will reach someone that is in a place where they would be able to help.

For those of you who know me, you know this is EXCEEDINGLY close to my heart. Not only do I remember meeting Lianna at gridlock, my husband was diabetic and I lost him in 09 to diabetes.
Retinopathy is no joke. Please, please if you can do anything to help. If you can’t, signal boost.
Hi everyone, I’m remaking this post due to my last one receiving so many notes but I am still struggling and desperately need help to make ends meet. As many of you are aware, I’ve struggled a lot these past few months with my benefit cuts and reassessments.
I’ve almost been made homeless twice this year and when everything seems to be working out, they all fall apart. My benefit is currently under a reassessment and the only good news coming out of all this is that I had a long-awaited appointment on (December 18th) with the Centre for Health and Disability Assessments, for my mental health and for a WCA. Once my reassessment is complete, my benefit will be fully reinstated, but this can take a further 3 – 4 weeks to be processed meaning I won’t receive my benefit until late January (roughly the 25th).
And I know that everyone is struggling with the holidays but, if anyone is able to spare anything to help me get some groceries, even if it’s just £1/$1, please try.

On New Year’s Eve someone set off a firework that landed on the roof of my grandmother’s house in Corsicana, Texas. The house caught fire at the same time the local fire department was responding to another fire. Because Corsicana is such a small town, emergency services didn’t have enough time to respond to the fire. As a result, the house and everything in it burned down.
My grandmother Wendy and her husband Duane lost everything and need help. She and her husband have no clothes, no place to stay, and no means to make money on their own. They ran a photo business out of their home, but everything they needed for their business burned as well. Wendy is diabetic and Duane has recurring heart issues, and they have a lot of medical costs. Recently, there was also a lapse on their home insurance due to money issues.
They only have the clothes they were wearing and their phones. Their vehicle didn’t burn up but the keys did, so it will be a little bit before they can access the car too.
This fundraiser is to raise money to help Wendy and Duane find more permanent housing. Right now my family is helping them with a place to live by covering the costs of a hotel room, but it’s a temporary fix. Everything, even a dollar, helps. I’ll also soon be posting an address where clothing for Wendy and Duane can be sent.
Additionally, if anyone in or around the town of Corsicana can keep an eye out for Molly, my grandmother’s dog, we would be eternally grateful. Molly is afraid of fireworks and likely ran away before or during the fire, as the fire department said there was no evidence of her being burned. Molly is a blue tick cattle dog mix, around the age of 9 or 10, and she responds to her name. I’ll post a picture as soon as we find one.

I am the sole income of a family of 5. My parents are making the transition to government assistance but the process is slow and full of hurdles. I also take care of my younger siblings both of which have asthma.
I work retail and keeping up with everything is incredibly difficult. At the moment we are out of food and I am out of money for the bus to and from work. My mom and sister require monthly medications and are running low. I just spent my last dollar on pads from dollar tree. I haven’t eaten since yesterday afternoon and I work 10 hour shifts.

My abusive mother just told me that she “accidentally” threw away my passport when she was spring cleaning.
Guys, I’m supposed to be travelling overseas on January 10 to reconnect with my dad and discuss the possibility of him supporting me. After struggling to survive for months, this was supposed to be my chance at finally getting financial support.
But now I’m absolutely devastated. My mother will stop at nothing to keep me financially screwed and relying on food banks to live.
I MAY be able to get a new passport in time, but I would have to pay so many fees. $277 for a new one and $183 for it to be processed quickly.

My lumbar puncture last week was a big failure. Which means, not only are my muscles still sore from being repeatedly stabbed with a needle in my back and abdomen, but I wasn’t able to get the test done that I went in for. So now I’m back to doing referrals and tests and procedures, which has me travelling all over the city while we try to pin down a diagnosis. It gets expensive for me, so I am putting out my tin cup to ask for small donations.
