this was in the netherlands and there were also two at my local bus stop, its been the poster ive seen replaced the fastest :/

What’s funny is that the Netherlands is known as a super progressive and pro LGBTQ country (they were the first country to legalize gay marriage, pride here is a huge deal, and many of my friends deem it safe to be out), but even in my friend’s ultra-leftist neighborhood these posters were vandalized. It makes me so mad when people say “you don’t need more rights//you can marry, what else do you want//what oppression lol everyone is equal in the West :))))” because it’s so fucking ignorant and false.

If you’re a senior in high school, and your freshman little sister comes up to you with bloody scraped knees and tears all over her face crying, “I hate seniors! They always bully me!” you don’t stand there and lecture her on why she shouldn’t label all seniors as bullies.

You don’t fucking do that shit.

You say, “Don’t worry. I’ll make sure those seniors don’t pick on you.“

You take responsibility for protecting her.

Because she’s your little sister. And she can’t fight bullies on her own.

That’s how privilege fucking works. Women, gay people, black people, trans people, Muslims, atheists, every single minority in the United States—they’re the little sisters getting beat up by your fellow upperclassmen. You don’t make it their responsibility. YOU TAKE IT UPON YOURSELF TO HELP THEM.

Barnes and Noble is selling books on their website/in their stores such as “A Parent’s Guide to Preventing Homosexuality” and “Stop Autism Now! A Parent’s Guide to Preventing and Reversing Autism Spectrum Disorders” and I am pissed. Not only are these books scientifically inaccurate, but using “parenting guides” as a way to masquerade around behind the scenes with hate and bigotry is absolutely disgusting. Children of parents who read these books and employ their methodology will be at risk for a host of mental illnesses, not to mention drug use and suicidal tendencies. I will (sadly, bc I love books a lot) be boycotting Barnes and Noble until these books are pulled from their inventories, and would appriciate it if y’all would share/do the same. This hatred needs to be stopped.
