So very true

So very false???

A cat literally can’t express itself but a boy who wants to wear dresses will say “I want to wear a dress” vs a trans girl who will say “I’m a girl” there’s a massive difference and conflating the two just reveals how little you understand about our experiences.

I bet y’all demons would have kept trying to convince 13yo me that I was a boy. You only care about kids that turn out to be cis. You’re transparent and we see through you.

Also, a kid saying ‘I’m a girl’ instead of ‘I’m a boy’ is not going to die if they say they are a girl instead of a boy. A cat will die if fed a vegan diet.

Human children are also not animals, they are people. Comparing a four year old to an animal in terms of ‘ability to express ones self, intelligence, and capacity for decision making’ is not only vastly, provably incorrect, but extraordinarily dehumanizing.

A child is more than capable of making decisions on their own. No, they can’t make life altering ones like ‘keep grandpa on life support’, but they can choose things and know about themselves. Believe me, I have met a LOT of four year olds. They have the capacity for decision making. ‘This shirt or that shirt’, ‘these shoes or those shoes’, ‘this bear out of all these different bears’, ‘poutine not a burger’.

They can also tell you facts about themselves by age four: ‘I like the ocean!’, ‘I like pizza with pepperoni!’ ‘I have brown eyes!’ ‘my dog just died!’ and ‘I am a boy/girl’.

Four year old children are aware of a great many things. They certainly lack maturity and world knowledge, but they know enough about themselves by age four to tell you if you’re wrong about something about them. If I told a four year old ‘you have purple hair’ they would correct me if they in fact had blonde hair. If I call a boy a girl by mistake, they correct me and tell me ‘actually I’m a boy’. And who the hell am I to question that?
