Section 377 of Indian Penal code is again at the brink of getting scrapped off and although I don’t wanna hope, this time it looks hopeful. If it the ban does go away, that means, gay sex will be decriminalized. Lgbtq+ people living in India will no longer be criminals by the eyes of the law.
India does not have much of a place on this site. So unless a few of us are blogging about it, I know no one cares much. But please think about how huge it will be for us still living in the closet. Yes it is just a law and if it does get scrapped, not much will change. We can’t cure the internalized homophobia. So we won’t be able to change people.
But if this happens, we will get to exhale (Love, Simon reference although that fim didn’t even get released here. See where we live?)

LGBT culture is inherently harmful to those in it and wider society, and creates a very toxic image of all non-hets even if a large portion of them are absolutely opposed to all the ridiculous things going on in it. I’m not a hardliner by any means but if these people refuse to act reasonably then they do not get to be treated reasonably. You reap what you sow.

My personal favorite thing about this argument is the idea that lgbtqia+ people are definitely bourgeois, but sports, the literally useless games we spent a truly ridiculous amount of time and money in, are not.
Like i am a sports fan but i’m also gay and please for the love of god look up how much money pro sports makes, how public schools put more money into sports than they do necessary items for teaching or paying their teachers, how sports can ruin a person’s body physically and mentally.

a hall pass is a thing you can show to school staff to prove you’re wandering the halls with your teacher’s permission, not skipping class. once upon a time it was a piece of paper, but people kept losing those, so around the time i was in high school, teachers started taping the school-issued cardstock hall pass to things like blocks of wood, plastic flowers, and plush toys, to make them harder to lose.
