this has been going on for 30+ years. this town has been without drinkable water + a proper sewage system for 30+ years due to these things being considered “too high of a cost” for the city of Dallas. the town is in the middle of a desert where the nearest grocery store is 7 miles away.
lmao, the fact that these people dont have food or water because people see those resources as too expensive to provide them with is disgusting. capitalism is a disease
Hey folks. I’m moving next week and I’m getting rid of TONS of stuff. I love my off-duty Army!John cosplay, but realistically I know I’m unlikely to wear it again, so I’d like to pass it along to someone in the fandom who will enjoy it.
INCLUDED: Authentic British army desert trousers, US army desert shirt, desert combat boots, and regulation belt. The boots were particularly hard to find!
SIZING: Shirt is a men’s small, but I think it was on the larger size of small, and it’s stretchy. Trouser size leg/waist/seat 80/88/104 (35″ waist size). Boots are quite big on me (Men’s sizes: US 7.5, UK 6.5, EU 40), but they were fine to walk in. Added to John’s distinctive stride.
PRICING: I probably paid around $90 for everything pictured below and wore it all
twice. Make an offer. So long as it covers the cost of shipping those boots, I’ll probably take it. I just don’t want this stuff to go to waste.

Price drop! Seriously folks, I don’t want to just drop this as my local goodwill.
To my indigenous followers and those who are allies to indigenous people:
Please, I am begging you to make this known, to get the word out there. I am only asking for a reblog. Please help support the people of Skownan (formerly known as Waterhen).
Come Monday morning many indigenous people (elders, adults, youth, and children) will be displaced. AGAIN.
Let me tell you what lead up to the situation they’re in now.
In 1996 families protested against the corrupt chief of Waterhen (now Skownan). Supporters of the chief burned down the band office, destroying information that would implicate the chief and Canada of corrupt business.
Barricades went up. Police were called in. A month later the protesters and their leader were taken into custody.
Roughly 300 members left the reserve due to harassment and violence. Many of them had their houses burned down, had their possessions seized, lost their jobs, and most of all lost their right to live in the community.
These people were chased off their own lands by their own fucking people.
Many had to settle in places far from their original homes.
Eventually the Canadian government stepped up and told those who were displaced that they could live in Manitoba housing rent-free until more permanent accommodations could be made. This was meant to be temporary while a relocation process was put in the works to establish a new reserve.
After awhile, the residents had to pay rent which they were okay with since it wouldn’t be long.
WRONG!
As usual, the Canadian government always fucks over its indigenous people time and time again. Canada did not keep its end of the deal, instead breaching the agreements set out.
In protest, the displaced residents decided to not pay rent in order to get the government to listen and keep their end of the deal and address the injustices.
For twenty years these families have had to go through unfair treatment through the legal and justice systems. They’ve been ignored for so long.
Yet again these families (and descendants) will be kicked out of their homes, all because the Canadian government didn’t want to deal with them anymore.
Please, I am asking you to help in any way you can. If you are in Winnipeg, you can join the protests outside of the Manitoba Legislature building.
I am not very knowledgeable but if you know what to do in these kinds of situations, please let me know.
“jealousy is so disgusting” “anger is so toxic” did u know? these are emotions every human has
I’ve always been a fan of an analogy I heard once. Your emotions are like one of the lights on your car’s dash. When one of them turns on, it means you need to check under the hood and fix them. It’s not bad that the light turned on, per se, and it doesn’t always mean something is broken. But what IS toxic, dangerous, and likely to break something, is when you let that light stay on, pretending it’s normal, until that braking fluid finally fails and you crash into someone, or your engine fails completely.
Feel jealous. Feel anger.
Just don’t let it fester. You need to look inside of yourself, find out why you’re feeling the way you are, and bring yourself to a satisfied, stable state of mind. You can look at philosophy, meditation/introspection, religion, or actual therapy, or at least talking to someone about it. You’ll find you’re much more content and happy when you do something about those feelings, and come to some sort of conclusion or resolution.
That is a wonderful way of looking at it, thankyou. Makes me feel better about myself when I DO feel that way.
An aesthetic proposal that would make my inner fangirl die of happiness overload:
A fantasy TV show staring Dominic Sherwood as a werewolf.
James Marsters and Alyssa Milano as his parents, the badass Alpha-couple that gets killed off in the first episode and then appears in regular flashbacks.
John Laroquette as his grandfather and guide into the supernatural world. Retired former Alpha living in a cabin in the woods, who takes the protagonist in after his parents are killed.
Amy Acker as the Alpha of the neighboring pack who offers the protagonist her help after his pack is slaughtered and he’s pretty much alone with his grandpa. Teaches him how to fight and be a werewolf.
Dylan O’Brien as the protagonist’s best friend and fun side-kick who gets dragged into the supernatural by him. Good sorcerer, but didn’t know he carried the power. Perhaps surprise-revealed to be the villain’s illegitimate son.
Yaya DaCosta
as his best friend and voice of reason character who keeps the idiot-duo in check. The human who runs with wolves and fights with logic.
Santiago Cabrera as his love-interest, a werewolf from Amy Acker’s pack.
Also featuring John Barrowman as the villain. Evil sorcerer and maybe former confidant of the Alpha-couple.
This would please me immensely on an aesthetic level.
“The idea is that these wonderful sort of feral creatures had lived on this planet (Crait) and had consumed the planet’s surface, and as such had become crystalline. They live within the burrows and within the tunnels beneath the planet,” Neal Scanlan, head of the Star Wars creature shop, says. “So there is a time where their ability to shine within the darkness, should provide a guiding light to our heroes.”
The creatures were designed by Aaron McBride and Pablo Hidalgo came up with their name from the Latin word for fox, and the name of the fox genus, vulpes and vertices (singular: vertex), or the corners of any polyhedron, a shape assimilated with crystals.
