Inge Prader

From her series Golden Phase

The editorial team at Staged Photography often encounters photographic recreation of paintings, but rarely are they as successfully executed as Inge Prader’s Golden Phase. She recreates many of Gustav Klimt’s iconic paintings as staged photographs.

Prader is a photographer working in Vienna, Austria. She created these images for the annual Life Ball which supports efforts around de-stigmatizing HIV and AIDS and raises funds for various charities.

Rather than show the source material, we will use the allotted ten slots to show you as many of Prader’s images as Tumblr will allow. If you are interested in seeing some of the source paintings, click over to Artnet, who deserves a hearty rap across the knuckles for referring to the photographer as a man.
