can girls stop judging other girls for not using tampons

it’s literally annoying sometimes when i’m talking to someone and we talkin about girl problems and they’re like OMG HOW CAN YOU WEAR THAT DIAPER JUST TRY TAMPONS like some people can’t physically wear tampons so frick off pls

When I was a freshman in high school, we were changing int he bathroom for gym and a senior asked if anyone had an extra pad. This girl goes, “No. I’m not fucking twelve.”

NEVER SAY THAT. Some women physically can’t use tampons. And personally, I have anxiety about having them in all the time because of toxic shock, so I occasionally go a couple hours with just a pad. Don’t make fun of anyone for this

Also, honestly, some of the newer brands of pads (Always Infinity, IMHO) are so thin and comfortable that I’ve used them for an entire cycle, nothing else, and was fine.

Yeah, I prefer something internal (tampons or, usually, a Diva cup). But internal stuff is always its own hassle, just a different one; and for some people that outweighs that weird gushy feeling when you cough/sneeze/stand up after a while.

And GTFO with that “twelve” comment, I didn’t get my period until a few days before I turned fifteen.

I’ve worn pads only for 18 years (since my son was born). Tampons got really uncomfortable about he was born.  Always Infinity is amazing and I honestly don’t feel like I’m wearing a pad at all.

I’m pretty much pads only and have been my whole life because a) to me they’re more comfortable and b)  when I was a teenager (in the 90s) my mom always said she’d tell me how to use them later, and didn’t, which resulted in me being 18, in boot camp, getting coached outside the stall on how to use a tampon by three other girls. And I’d never had a thing up there before.

So yeah, I’m just generally more comfortable with pads. And pad technology has come a LONG way in 20 years. (I am old enough to remember when wings were a new thing. And a godsend)

Tampons fucking HURT. I don’t understand how people can find them more comfortable than pads. I don’t know if anyone else experiences it, but my cramps are always so much worse when I wear them.

Why does anyone judge anyone for this?! Where I was there was kind of a stigma against tampons, I guess because you were putting something up there and that wasn’ t very virginal or whatever. I don’t even know.

I’ve worn both and other stuff besides. Now I prefer my Thinx underwear because they’re comfy for me. I also like tampons, because I can’t handle the squishy feeling and sometimes pads chafe, but no one’s experience is universal. One of my friend’s used to swear by instead, but I could feel it the whole time and it was so comfortable. Gf wants me to try divacup because she loves hers and maybe I will too. There are so many different products because vaginas and their owners are different!

Also, funny story: When my mom taught me to use a tampon (standing outside the bathroom talking me through it), she failed to make it clear that applicators came in 2 parts, so I only took one out. Never have I felt anything so uncomfortable!!! So whatever you use, don’t do it that way!
